South Korean superstar Kim Soo Hyun has been at the receiving end of severe backlash in the aftermath of actress Kim Sae-ron’s death. After losing several brand deals and endorsements, locals were spotted tearing down his posters and hoardings that were propped up across South Korea.

In a video that has now gone viral, people can be seen tearing down posters of Soo Hyun. Local shop owners also took down the actor’s hoardings endorsing certain brands outside their stores. Not just that, but several brands also severed their ties with the Queen of Tears actor after his name got embroiled in the scandal.

Soo Hyun faced one of his biggest losses after high-end designer brand Prada severed ties with the actor due to his involvement in the scandal. Not just that, but cosmetic brand Dinto also terminated their contract with him.

The final blow for Soo Hyun came as his upcoming show, Knock Off, got shelved by Disney+ Hotstar. It was slated for premiere in April this year.

Soo Hyun also lost millions of followers on social media, which contributes to a major chunk of his income. Not just that, but he also slipped from the position of being the highest-paid actor in Korea, and he has now been replaced by Park Hyung Sik.

What is the Kim Sae-ron & Kim Soo Hyun scandal?

Bloodhounds actress Kim Sae-ron died by suicide at her Seoul residence on February 16 this year, and it opened a can of worms, particularly for Kim Soo Hyun. A woman, claiming to be Sae-ron’s aunt, accused Soo Hyun of harassing the actress, pushing her to end her own life.

She also claimed that Soo Hyun dated Sae-ron when she was just 15, manipulated her and mentally abused her. She accused him of presurrising her to pay him millions of wons before her death, despite knowing that she was out of work and was struggling financially.
