Massive Loan Fraud Exposed In Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Gang Duped Banks Using Fake Truck Registration Numbers |

The Waluj police busted a gang that used to dupe banks by taking loans on the same trucks multiple times by changing their registration numbers. The police arrested five members of the gang on Tuesday and seized four goods trucks worth Rs 1 crore from them.

Police said that Waluj police station constable Vijay Pimple received information about a gang active in the Waluj area, which dupes banks by taking loans on the same trucks after changing number plates. Accordingly, the police started their investigation. A patrolling team, including PSI Ajay Shitole, Vijay Pimple, Sudhakar Patil, Niting Dhule, Shrikant Sapkal, and others, stopped a truck (MH40CT 1289) in front of the Waluj police station on March 10. During the check, they found that the engine and chassis numbers were forged. A case was registered at the Waluj police station.

The police arrested the owner, Kaisar Pathan, and his accomplice, Punjaram Manal. They confessed that they used to take loans on the same vehicles by tampering with the engine, chassis, and registration numbers. The police then arrested other truck owners, including Anand Krushna Akkar (Cidco, Waluj Mahanagar), Dadarao Sahebrao Barde (Mhasoba Galli, Sillod), and Ganesh Ankushrao Dake (Eitkheda), and seized all four trucks.

The accused told the police that they tampered with the engine and chassis numbers of the trucks, then did not repay the bank loans. After changing the numbers, they applied for more loans on the same vehicles. Under the guidance of PI Rajendra Sahane, PSI Ajay Shitole is further investigating the case.
