And, this time, MONSTA X’s Minhyuk found himself in the spotlight after recent rumours of his alleged romantic relationship started circulating online. The controversy erupted when photos and videos claimed to be evidence of Minhyuk’s dating life went viral, leaving their fandom (Monbebe) with many questions.
Where everything started?
The rumours began on March 24, 2025, when an anonymous account on X (formerly Twitter) shared images and videos purportedly showing Minhyuk with a woman believed to be his girlfriend. The post quickly gained traction, triggering widespread speculation. The images allegedly captured private moments, including outings where the two were seen together, sparking heated discussions online.

Shortly after the initial posts, the anonymous user claimed to have received additional information from a tipster who reportedly spotted Minhyuk shopping with the same woman at the upscale Shinsegae Mall in Gangnam. The source alleged that the two were seeing dishware, fuelling rumours that they might be preparing for a more serious commitment, possibly even marriage.
The situation took another twist when the X user declared they would stop sharing any further “evidence,” citing remaining admiration for Minhyuk. “The reason I didn’t post more is because of the last bit of love I had left for him,” they wrote, leaving cryptic hints about having more insider details on Minhyuk’s personal life.
One particularly puzzling claim involved Minhyuk’s home decor. The anonymous user questioned why Minhyuk had allegedly changed the wallpaper in his house at the same time that his rumoured girlfriend supposedly moved in.
After the alleged revelation, fans and netizens began scrutinising the social media activity of the woman rumoured to be Minhyuk’s girlfriend. Some pointed to what they believed were “Lovestagram” posts, subtle social media hints dropped by couples to signal their relationship.
One Instagram story drew particular attention. The woman had posted about attending a wedding, captioning it, “Bringing my ’12-year-long’ Monbebe friend’s wedding,” as per Pannchoa reports. This cryptic message led some fans to speculate that she was referencing Minhyuk, and they have allegedly been dating for over “12 years.”
These findings left the fandom divided. While some believed the posts hinted at a secret relationship, others argued that the evidence was insufficient to confirm anything.
Fans’ mixed reactions
As the rumours spread, fans took to social media to express their opinions. Some fans criticised the intense scrutiny of Minhyuk’s personal life, arguing that he is entitled to privacy and the freedom to date whomever he chooses. Supporters also reminded others that Minhyuk had previously mentioned his desire to settle down and start a family, making the dating rumours less surprising.
On the other hand, a faction of netizens remained sceptical, questioning the validity of the claims and expressing disappointment over the alleged secrecy. Some fans even argued that the idol should also prioritise his work and fan communication.
