The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the appointment of eight judicial officers as judges in the Gujarat High Court. The decision was taken on March 19 in a meeting chaired by Chief Justice (CJI) Sanjeev Khanna, in which Justice B.C. R. Gawai and Justice Suryakant were also involved.

New appointments in Gujarat High Court
According to the recommendation of the collegium, the judicial officers who will be made a judge in the Gujarat High Court are as follows:

  • Liakathusain Shamsuddin Pirzada
  • Ramchandra Thakurdas Vachani
  • Jayesh Lakhanshibhai Odendra
  • Pranav Maheshbhai Rawal
  • Original Chand Tyagi
  • Deepak Mansukhlal Vyas
  • Utkarsh Thaorabhai Desai
  • Rohankumar Kundanlal

Appointment of permanent judges in Punjab-Haryana High Court
The collegium has recommended the appointment of three judges as permanent judges in the Punjab and Haryana High Courts. These are judges:

  • Justice Sumit Goyal
  • Justice Sudipti Sharma
  • Justice Kirti Singh

Three judges’ term increased in Chhattisgarh High Court
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended extending the tenure of three additional judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court for one year. These include:

  • Justice Sachin Singh Rajput
  • Justice Radhakishan Aggarwal
  • Justice Sanjay Kumar Jaiswal

These recommendations will further strengthen the country’s judicial system and improve the justice process.
