In the famous Land for Job Scam, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) questioned Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and showered several important questions. According to ED sources, Lalu Yadav was questioned in detail in cases related to land and job transactions.
The ED asked Lalu Yadav why these land deals took place only with his family and how did the concerned people get a job in the railway immediately after these deals?
Why was the land of Kishun Dev Rai purchased for just 3.75 lakhs?
ED asked Lalu Yadav:
“Why did Kishun Dev Rai sell his 3,000 sq ft land to your wife Rabri Devi for just Rs 3.75 lakh?”
Apart from this, the ED also wanted to know:
“When did you first meet Raj Kumar Singh, Mithilesh Kumar and Ajay Kumar?”
Why did Rabri Devi get a job only after getting land?
ED officials asked:
“Why all three (Raj Kumar, Mithilesh, Ajay) got the job of Group D in Central Railway Mumbai soon after the land was transferred to Rabri Devi?”
Sanjay Rai, a resident of Mahuabagh, also sold his 3,375 sq ft land to Rabri Devi for just Rs 3.75 lakh. The ED asked, “Was it a coincidence or a well thought out plan?”
Why was the land sold to Misa Bharti?
ED also asked Lalu Yadav:
“Sanjay Rai and two members of his family got a railway job after the land registration of Rabri Devi, why?”
The ED questioned why Kiran Devi sold her 80,905 sq ft land to your daughter Misa Bharti for just Rs 3.70 lakh?

Why was 1,360 sq ft of land given in just 13 lakhs?
ED asked:
“How did the nephews of Hazari Rai – Dilchand Kumar and Prem Chand Kumar – How did you get a job in West Central Railway Jabalpur and South Eastern Railway Kolkata?”
Lal Chand Kumar, son of Lal Babu Rai, got a job in North Western Railway, Jaipur in 2006.
Subsequently, in 2015, Lal Babu Rai gave 1,360 sq ft land to Rabri Devi for only Rs 13 lakh.
“Was it just a coincidence or part of an agreement?”
Why did the land transfer to daughter Hema Yadav?
ED also asked Lalu Yadav:
“How long have you known Hridayanand Chaudhary?”
Why did Brijanandan Rai give 3,375 sq ft land to Hridayanand Chaudhary?
Hridayanand Chaudhary, after getting a job in the railway, why did the land transfer to your daughter Hema Yadav through gift deed?
ED investigation and further action
The ED is trying to find out in this case whether there was any concrete pattern to provide jobs in exchange for land?
Was it just a coincidence that after every land sold to the Lalu family, the concerned seller or a member of his family got a job in the railway?
