Meerut: Shocking revelations have been made in the gruesome murder case of Uttar Pradesh’s Merchant Navy Officer, Saurabh Rajput. The 35-year old was brutally murdered by his wife, Muskan Rastogi, along with her lover Sahil Shukla alias Mohit.
As per a report by Dainik Bhasker, police investigations revealed that Shukla was a regular Ganja smoker and had also made Rastogi an addict. Her dependence on the drug allegedly made her unable to leave him, keeping her trapped in the relationship despite the circumstances.
What Exactly Happened?
After the murder, Rastogi and her boyfriend, Shukla dismembered her husband’s body into 15 pieces.
Rastogi first stabbed Rajput in the chest while he was asleep in their bedroom. After he died, Shukla moved the body to the bathroom, where he cut it into pieces, including the hands and legs. The remains were then stuffed into a plastic drum and sealed with cement to conceal the crime.
To mislead family and neighbours, Rastogi traveled to Shimla-Manali for 12 days, posting photos and videos on Instagram to create the illusion of a vacation.
The crime came to light on March 18 when Rajput’s younger brother, Rahul, visited his house in Indranagar Second, Brahmapuri. He saw Rastogi with an unknown man (Shukla) and questioned her about his brother’s whereabouts. Her vague responses, coupled with a foul odor from the house, raised suspicion. Rahul alerted neighbors, and the police were called, uncovering the gruesome murder. Under interrogation, Rastogi and Shukla confessed to the crime.
About Rajput & Shukla’s Married Life
Rajput and Shukla tied the knot in 2016 and, due to family opposition, they lived in a rented apartment. The couple had two daughters, born in 2017 and 2019, respectively. Rajput initially left his job to spend more time with Rastogi but rejoined the merchant navy in 2023 after discovering her affair with Shukla.
On March 14, police recovered Saurabh’s dismembered body from a cement-filled drum and launched a detailed investigation.
