Mumbai: US President Donald Trump has signed the government’s aluminum industry body, Aluminum Association of India (AAI) from April to set up a 25 percent tariff on Indian aluminum and steel from April.
Under the RODTEP scheme, the government provides the withdrawal of central, state and local fees or taxes to exporters.
Advance Authority (AA) holders, export -oriented units and aluminum manufacturing units in special economic fields were under the RODTEP scheme till February this year.
Given the current global uncertainty, the AAI has requested the government to extend the RODTEP scheme to the Advance Authority (AA) holders, export -oriented units and aluminum manufacturing units in special economic fields.
India is the second largest producer of aluminum in the world, which has an annual capacity of 4.1 million tonnes. 45 percent of the country’s aluminum exports are from the advance authority (AA) holders, export -oriented units and units of special economic fields.
