The makers of Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Sikandar have maintained that their film will release on Eid this year, but the exact release date is not yet announced. Now, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Sikandar is all set to release on March 30, 2025. While it is not yet confirmed when the Eid will be celebrated (March 30, March 31, or 1st April), the makers have decided to get Sikandar to theatres on Sunday.
A source told the portal, “Sikandar’s release date has been locked. It’ll arrive in cinemas on Sunday, March 30. The makers are confident that it’s the correct day for release. Sunday will be a big holiday, more so in Maharashtra as Gudi Padwa falls on that day. Meanwhile, Ramzan Eid will be celebrated on Monday, March 31.”
“There’ll be a post-Eid holiday effect on Tuesday, April 1 and Wednesday, April 2 in many centres as well. The collections will again see a jump from Friday, April 4. Hence, until Sunday, April 6, the film’s collections will remain very strong,” the source added.
Salman Khan’s last film Tiger 3 had also got a Sunday release. The film took a bumper opening at the box office with a collection of Rs. 44.5 crore, and after being stable for a few days, it started showing a drop. The lifetime collection of Tiger 3 was Rs. 282.79 crore at the domestic box office, and it had failed to make a strong mark at the ticket windows.
Well, fans of Salman have high expectations from Sikandar as the film is directed AR Murugadoss who has given many hits in South, and in Hindi also the filmmaker has left a mark with his movies like Ghajini and Holiday.
With a Sunday release and a partial holiday of Gudi Padwa, Sikandar is expected to take a flying start at the box office. So, let’s wait and watch what will be the day one collection of the film, and whether the movie will be able to beat Tiger 3 or not.
Till now, the makers of Sikandar have released a teaser and three songs, and now, everyone is eagerly waiting for the trailer of the movie.
