Despite a leg injury, Rahul Dravid is fully committed to his role as Rajasthan Royals’ (RR) head coach. In a video that has now gone viral, Dravid was seen arriving at the RR training ground in a wheelchair to monitor his players ahead of their first match in IPL 2025. His dedication proves that even an injury can’t keep him away from cricket.

Dravid, who has replaced Kumar Sangakkara as the franchise’s head coach for the upcoming season, notably suffered an injury while playing cricket in Bengaluru. However, despite having a cast on his leg, he still joined the team. He even participated in training sessions on crutches and celebrated Holi with the players while in a wheelchair.

Rajasthan Royals eye winning start in IPL 2025

According to the IPL schedule, RR will face off against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on March 23, 2025, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. This highly anticipated match promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams looking to start their campaign on a winning note.

Durign the IPL 2025 auction, Royals signed 13-year-old Suryavanshi making him the youngest player in IPL history to get a contract when he was signed for a staggering Rs 1.10 crore in last year’s auction in Jeddah.

RR also revamped their bowling unit in the mega auction after not retaining or buying back Trent Boult, Yuzvendra Chahal and R Ashwin. They went on a bowler shopping spree signing the likes of Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana
