Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Mayor Malti Rai reviewed the functioning of Mayor Helpline on Tuesday as she addressed the complaints and highlighted the key issues about the municipal service.
The review conducted at Smart City control room follows the last review held on February 17, when she had urged BMC officials to take swift action, clear the backlog and improve city services.
The Mayor also inquired about problems related to sewage and streetlights, the most frequent complaints received by the helpline.
From February 1-28, 3,369 complaints were lodged and 2,762 resolved. In March, 1,588 complaints were registered of which 1,010 have been addressed. Mayor Rai directed that three employees Sohail Khan, Abdul Shami, and Sunil Gubare be sent to the garbage station for neglecting cleanliness duties in their respective zones, where numerous complaints had been left pending. She also highlighted a concern where complaints were marked as resolved without physical checks, prompting her to contact the concerned officials directly.
Expresses displeasure
During the review, she called additional municipal commissioner to inquire about an injured cow spotted on the night of March 16-17. The cow, which had been lying injured on the road, has not received care.
Rai expressed her displeasure over Singh’s lack of response and questioned the whereabouts of the cow ambulance, which was previously provided by former chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
