IRCTC launches ‘Jain Yatra’ spiritual train tour from Bandra Terminus, offering a journey to major Jain pilgrimage sites | Representational Image
Mumbai: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced the launch of a special spiritual train tour, “Jain Yatra”, under the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train initiative. The train is scheduled to depart from Bandra Terminus (Mumbai) on March 31, 2025, for an 8-night/9-day pilgrimage, covering prominent Jain religious sites.
The tour aligns with the Government of India’s “Dekho Apna Desh” and “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” initiatives, aiming to promote domestic tourism and spiritual travel in the country.
Route and Boarding Stations
The train will cover major Jain pilgrimage sites, including Pavapuri, Kundalpur, Guniyaji, Lacchuar, Rajgir, Parasnath,Rujuwalika and Sammed Shikharji .
Passengers can board/deboard at multiple stations, including Bandra Terminus, Borivali, Vapi, Valsad, Bhestan (Surat), Bhusawal, Itarasi, Jabalpur, and Satna.
Train Features and Facilities
The Bharat Gaurav AC Tourist Train will accommodate 750 passengers in 3AC class and offers modern amenities for a comfortable journey. The train is equipped with:
Air conditioned ( Third AC) train will be equipped with a modern onboard kitchen serving only Jain meals. Apart from that CCTV surveillance and security guards in each coach.
