Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation (CSMC) has selected the land in Gut No. 216 and 217 near Harsul Lake area for implementing the Prime Minister Awas Yojana to provide affordable houses to the residents. However, around 150 residents have already encroached on this government land. On Monday, additional municipal commissioner Santosh Wahule, assistant commissioner Savita Sonawane, Ashok Giri, Ashvini Kothalkar, Ravindra Desai, Pramod Jadhav, and other officers inspected the encroached land. The residents have been given a five-day period to remove the encroachment themselves.
Under the guidance of administrator and municipal commissioner G Shikanth, CSMC is implementing the PM Awas Scheme to provide houses at affordable prices to the residents. The residents were directed to apply for the scheme. The land near Harsul Lake has been selected for implementing the scheme.
As the land is encroached upon now, the residents have been directed to remove the encroachment on their own within five days, or the corporation will take action to remove the encroachment. The residents have also been warned that the articles seized during the action will not be returned to them at any cost.
