A recent video from Pakistan allegedly featuring a journalist and a policeman arguing in broken English has sent the internet into a frenzy. The clip, which starts with a debate in Punjabi, turns unintentionally funny as the two switch to English—resulting in a linguistic mix-up that netizens can’t stop laughing about.
The argument revolves over a parking issue. The video opens with the journalist questioning the cop about the legality of certain parked vehicles, which remain off-camera. “I only say you, this is legal?”, he asks the policeman, who immediately admits and says, “No”. A few seconds into the video, both parties are heard saying, “Not legal. Not legal”, only until the verbal fight gets more dramatic rather than sorted.

The policeman is then seen accusing the reporter of making threats. Clearly struggling for English words, he says, “This dumki (threatening) legal? My brother, you me stand”. At this point, the journalist, taking a dig at the cop’s grammar, responds by saying, “What is the meaning of ‘you me stand’? I don’t know”.
The fight doesn’t end there. The video concludes with the police officer insisting that the journalist head to the SP’s office to sort out the matter.
Internet in splits
The clip went viral to note how a heated exchange triggered laughter and left the internet in splits.
An X user named Raja Muneeb posted the video online with the caption, “This had me in splits! A Pakistani journalist and a policeman arguing in English”.
The video quickly went viral and gathered more than three lakh views on the social media site, where users flooded with hilarious reactions.

One user joked, “Two first-standard kids showing off in English.” Another noted, “The 3-language policy is important.”
Some even compared their English to that of Pakistani cricketers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, with one comment reading, “I understood their English… Better than Rizwan and Babar’s. At least you can make sense of this!”
Netizens collectively captioned this clip, “RIP English”.
Classic memes and GIFs featuring Tom & Jerry and funny Bollywood scenes also made the rounds.
