Jatin Hawakari, husband of actress Ranya Rao, arrested in the gold smuggling case in Bengaluru, filed a petition in the court to avoid arrest. His lawyer claimed in the court that Jatin and Ranya were married in November and separated in December. However, it was not officially announced. Jatin was afraid of arrest due to a relationship with Ranya.

 

Actress jailed, husband’s statement in court

Jatin Hawakari, husband of actress Ranya Rao, arrested in the gold smuggling case, filed a petition in the court. In this petition, he appealed that he should not be arrested in this case. He claimed in court that he and Ranya were married in November last year and were informally separated in December. Last Tuesday, the Karnataka High Court ordered that no action would be taken against them until the next hearing.

Jatin Hawakari’s lawyer Prabhuling Navdagi told the court that his client married Ranya Rao in November. But due to some problems, he had separated informally from December. Meanwhile, Madhu Rao, a lawyer of the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI), said that he would file his application next Monday.

“No action will be taken against Jatin Hukeri till 24 March”

The Karnataka High Court upheld its earlier order that no action would be taken against Jatin Hawakari till 24 March, and said that the next hearing will be held on Monday, when the DRI would file its application. On March 11, the Karnataka High Court ordered that no action should be taken against the hookher. Jatin filed a petition in the court. In this petition, he feared that he could be detained due to his relationship with Ranya Rao.

Ranya Rao was arrested on 3 March.

Jatin Hawakari came into the limelight when Ranya Rao’s father IPS officer Ramchandra Rao claimed that his daughter had separated from the family since marriage. The Managing Director of Karnataka State Police Housing and Infrastructure Development Corporation accused Ranya Rao after the arrest and his relationship with an officer of DGP level.
