Hate it or love it, but you cannot ignore it! Well, this is what is exactly happening with Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor starrer Nadaaniyan. The movie, which was premiered on Netflix on March 7, got negative reviews from the critics, and soon it became a meme material on social media as netizens started bashing the acting of Ibrahim and Khushi. Nadaaniyan marked the debut of Saif Ali Khan’s son, Ibrahim, and it was Sridevi’s daughter, Khushi’s third film.

Both of them come from a film family background, so of course, everyone on social media was just talking about how Bollywood is still promoting nepotism. Some of the trolls were quite nasty and not just the acting, but they took digs at Khushi and Ibrahim’s look as well.

However, amid all the trolling and bashing, Ibrahim and Khushi, are getting support from the industry. Yes, celebs like Vikram Bhatt, Hansal Mehta, and Sonu Sood have come out in support of the two actors.

Sonu Sood’s Cryptic Post

Sonu Sood in a post asked people to be kinder to debutants. While he didn’t take anyone’s name, people speculated that his post was for Nadaaniyan actors.

The Fateh actor had posted, “Be kind to debutants in the film fraternity and elsewhere. Nobody was perfect when they started. We all learn with experience. Only a handful get a second chance. A good or bad performance in any vertical is the collective responsibility of every technician involved. We are all learners. Let’s support and encourage them. Spread love.”

Vikram Bhatt Predicts Ibrahim Will Become A Big Star

In an interview with Galatta India, Vikram Bhatt had stated that he liked Ibrahim in the film. The filmmaker said, “I liked Ibrahim, it’s a different matter whether the film is good or not. But these days, there is an argument about nepotism, and to win that argument, you have to be superb, but that’s not fair for newcomers. It’s his first film. Who does superb in their first film?”

“He has a presence in front of the camera, you can tell that he knows acting. So, I am sad about this whole thing. I didn’t find any problem in his acting. The film wasn’t the type that I would watch, but I am also not the target audience for this film,” he added. The Raaz filmmaker predicted that Ibrahim will become a big star.

Hansal Mehta Feels People Are Unfair And Harsh

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has been posting about how Bollywood needs to revive, and he even shared a list of actors who can be the next big thing in the industry according to him. Recently, while talking to ETimes about the criticism Ibrahim and Khushi are facing, Mehta said, “I do feel that people are being very harsh and unfair. What is sad is that, have we checked for the preparedness of these children before they have got their break? The kind of comments that people are passing are in terrible taste. I’m sure it must be traumatizing for the young people”

The filmmaker also stated a very good point that people who are producing or directing the film should see if their actors and crew are prepared. “You cannot just assume that somebody will be good because they come from a certain lineage. So, in that sense, it is even unfair to launch them by giving them a false sense of entitlement. That entitlement should come from, I think, preparedness,” he added.

While Ibrahim and Khushi are facing trolls and getting support, it all depends on how they perform in their next movie. Will they be able to impress the audience or once again there will be trolling? Only time will tell us…

Khushi currently has no films that are officially announced, meanwhile Ibrahim will be seen in a Dharma Production movie which also stars Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead roles.
