A big controversy has emerged in the five -match T20 International series being played between New Zealand and Pakistan. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken strict action against Pakistan all -rounder Khushdil Shah.

The ICC has found Khushdil Shah guilty of violating Level 2 of the Code of Conduct.
They have been fined 50% of the match fees.

What is the whole matter?

The incident occurred during the first T20 match played at Christchurch on 16 March.
In the 8th over of Pakistan’s innings, Khushdil Shah collided with New Zealand bowler Zakari Falcus.
The collision was so strong that it was seen as ‘unfair physical contact with excessive force’.
The ICC considered it a careless, unmatched and deferred act.

ICC’s decision – heavy fine and disciplinary marks

The ICC fined Khushdil Shah 50% of his match fee.
Also, three demerit marks were added to his disciplinary records.

Effect of demerit digits:
If a player gets 4 or more demerit marks in 24 months, these suspension turns into points.
As soon as two suspension points are received, the player is banned from one Test, two ODIs or two T20 International matches.

Khushdil Shah accepted his mistake, so he did not need a formal hearing.

Can Khushdil Shah take more strict action?

If Khushdil makes such a mistake again in the next 24 months and 4 demerit marks are completed, they may have to face suspension.
At the moment, they are only fined, but it can leave stains on their indiscipline records.
