Pakistan has reacted strongly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent podcast. The neighboring country criticized PM Modi’s statements as “misleading and unilateral”. In fact, in a three-hour podcast with American podcaster and computer scientist Lex Fridman, PM Modi spoke openly on India-Pakistan relations. He clarified that India always took the initiative of peace with Pakistan, but in return it got “enmity and betrayal”. Along with this, he referred to the threat of global terrorism and said that most of the terrorist incidents around the world are related to Pakistan. He hoped that Pakistan’s top leadership came to width and they should adopt the path of peace.

Pakistan told Modi’s statement ‘misleading’

Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry reacted to PM Modi’s remarks and rejected his claims in a statement issued to the media. Pakistan said that these comments are unilateral and intentionally ignored the Kashmir dispute. The statement said that Kashmir is an unresolved issue for the last seven decades, while India had promised the United Nations, Pakistan and Kashmiri people to find a solution. Pakistan alleged that India is interfering in the internal affairs of Pakistan and is trying to spread instability on its land.

In a conversation with Lex Fridman, PM Modi reminded that he had specially invited Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for his swearing -in ceremony in 2014. He hoped that this initiative would make a new beginning in the relationship between the two countries, but India got hostility and betrayal every time.
