Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh): On Monday evening, a worship ceremony of ‘Kadhav’ (large iron vessel) was held at Dewas Gate, in front of Animal Hospital, by social worker Arun Verma and his group of friends. The event marked the beginning of preparations for Rang Panchami, when city residents will have the opportunity to take a dip in royal ‘Kadhav’.

The celebration promises to be a lively one, with a water park and dance bar offering entertainment, and food arrangements to ensure everyone enjoys festivities. Prominent figures, including Mahamandaleshwar Shaileshanand Giri, City Congress Committee president Mukesh Bhati, Vivek Yadav and Chetan Yadav participated in the worship ceremony.

Flag hoisting procession to be taken out (PIC-3)

Shri Mahakaleshwar Dhvaj Chal Samaroh Samiti has announced the annual flag hoisting ceremony at Mahakaleshwar Temple on Rang Panchami festival. According to committee president Pujari Ashish Sharma, the ceremony will begin at the temple and proceed through city’s main roads and returning to the temple.

The event will feature various tableaux, including Bhakt Prahlad from Indore, Kumbh Sran, elephants performing Mahadev’s abhishek, Ganga Avtaran, Betul’s band, Mahishasur from Badnagar, Indore Bhairav, Adiyogi Shiv, Ratlam’s mesmerising elephant tableau, Harsiddhi Mata’s tableau, Baba’s sehra and a power-packed performance of Dhol by women from Pune and Nashik. The procession will begin at Mahakaleshwar Temple and pass through Topkhana, Daulatganj, Nai Sadak, Satigate and Gopal Mandir before returning to the temple.

Malvi Raapt Roliya to be held at Dwarkadheesh Temple

Dwarkadheesh Temple will host Malvi Raapt Roliya event on Wednesday, marking Rangpanchami celebrations. The event, organised by Swarnim Bharat Manch, will begin at 9 am, where residents will play Holi in Mathura-Vrindavan style. According to programme convenor Jayant Singh Gaur, the event will feature traditional Holi celebrations, where participants will engage in playful colour-throwing.

‘Nagar Gair’

Good Habit Organisation has planned a vibrant and festive welcome for Nagar Gair procession on the occasion of Rang Panchami. The procession will be greeted at Gudri Chowk with an exciting display of 11k colourful balloons filled with water, offering a refreshing and joyous atmosphere for participants.

In addition to this, 5k litres of fragrant cold water will be arranged, which will be continuously showered over colour enthusiasts through fountains, mimicking the effect of a gentle rain. This year marks the third successful edition of Nagar Gair, a tradition that has been celebrated with great enthusiasm for the last two years.
