Vrindavan man steals man’s phone for Frooti | Instagrammers Kartik Rathoud and Satyam
Vrindavan’s monkey menace is known to people across the globe. Monkeys are believed to be no less than addicted to Frooti, a mango drink. There have been several incidents where these notorious creatures have stolen the personal belongings of devotees walking through the streets of the holy town, only to return them if the persons treated the monkeys with the beverage. Be it sunglasses or bags, these monkeys only chose to return the items once their thirst for the fruity drink was quenched. A recent instance of this monkey issue has taken the internet by storm, capturing the attention of social media users.
This time, a monkey was seen grabbing a man’s phone as he was walking down the streets of Vrindavan. After stealing the phone, identified as a Samsung S25 Ultra worth nearly 1.3 lakh rupees, the monkey scampered up the side of a building and darted towards the roof, leaving the man worried.

One Frooti, please!
The incident was recorded on camera. It showed the phone owner standing in shock as the thief had made off with his phone, leaving him anxiously wondering how to retrieve it. Soon, a local man entered the scene and presented the classic way to receive the mobile back from the monkey. He suggested the person to offer the monkey with a Frooti to get back his phone.
Did the man get his phone back?
Without giving much of a thought, the man desperately agreed. He picked a Tetra Pak of Frooti and tossed it in the direction of the monkey. The results were almost immediate. It easily got a catch! After grabbing the drink, without any hesitation, the monkey dropped the phone downwards.
The monkey enjoyed its Frooti while the man was happy to retrieve the stolen item.
It was believed the incident took place during the days of Holi. The man was dressed with Holi colours on his shirt.
The video was posted online by Instagrammers Kartik Rathoud and Satyam. It has gone viral and attracted many comments.
“Ek haath se do, ek saath se lo” (Give from one hand, take from another), highlighting the trade-off between the monkey and the man, with the Frooti drink being the price he paid to get his phone back. “Woh pet se bhukhe hai tumari chizo ke nahi (They are hungry for food, not for your things)”, said another.
