ITEP Course: 12th Pass Great opportunity for students

Under the ITEP course, 12th pass students can do four-year BA-B.Ed, BSc-B.Ed and BCom-B.Ad.

According to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a four -year B.Ed or ITEP degree will be mandatory to become a teacher from 2030. Therefore, the demand and importance of this course is increasing rapidly.

The ITEP course will prepare teachers for 5+3+3+4 school education system under the new education policy.

Which institutions will get admission in NCET 2025 exam?

NCET 2025 examinations are being conducted in selected central and state universities and government colleges including IIT, NIT, RIE for admission to IITP course.

What is ITEP course?

ITEP (Integrated Teacher Education Program) will not be required after B.Ed or DLED.
This course is four years old and prepares teachers for all four stages of the new school education system.
NCTE (NCTE) implemented this course in 57 teacher education institutions (TEI) across the country from 2023-24 session.
It was notified on 26 October 2021.
It gives double degrees of BA-B.Ed, BSc-B.Ed and BCom-B.Ed.

Why is Itep course necessary?

After 2030, a four -year ITEP will be mandatory to become teachers in schools.
After passing TET, STET or other state level teacher examination, you will get a chance to become a teacher in a government school.
This course is completed in 4 years instead of current 5 years of studies (3 years graduation + 2 years B.Ed), which saves 1 year.
The two -year -old B.Ed will be valid only for higher education (academic research, PhD).

After 2030, only the teacher will be recruited from ITEP

Under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, ITEP will be made mandatory for the recruitment of teachers from 2030.

However, there will also be a two -year -old B.Ed, but it will be mainly for higher education. Only ITEP degree holders will get priority to become teachers in schools.
