Kannada actress Ranya Rao was arrested for 14 kg of gold smuggling, but now she has made shocking claims. The actress made serious allegations against the Revenue Intelligence Directorate (DRI) officials, saying that she was slapped several times during custody, hungry and forcibly signed on the vacant pages.
Ranya Rao’s claim – “I was implicated in a false case”
Ranya Rao said that he has been forcefully implicated in this smuggling case and he is innocent. He said that he was mentally and physically abused during custody, causing him fearful and upset.

Arrested with 14.2 kg of gold at Bengaluru Airport
The actress was arrested by the DRI after being caught with 14.2 kg of gold at Kempe Gowda International Airport in Bengaluru on 3 March. After the arrest, pictures of his swollen eyes and bruises went viral on social media, fearing an abuse in custody.
Women’s Commission’s response – “Not possible without complaint action”
Nagalakshmi Chaudhary, Chairman of Karnataka State Women’s Commission, gave a statement in this matter and said that,
“If he is beaten up in custody, it is wrong. But until a formal complaint is filed, the Commission cannot take action on it. We should allow the investigation to be completed and the law should be allowed to do our work. “
Bail plea rejected, Ranya is currently in judicial custody
During interrogation, Ranya described herself innocent and said that she has been implicated in this smuggling racket. He also said that he is very upset due to mental stress and lack of sleep during custody.
Currently, Ranya Rao is in judicial custody and investigation is on. On Friday, the Special Court dismissed his bail plea. Now it has to be seen what the turn comes in this case.
