Thane Shocker: Cleaner Found Hanging in Bhiwandi Public Toilet Room | Representational Image
Thane: A 32-year-old man died after committing suicide by hanging himself in the room with the help of clothes on Sunday in Bhiwandi. The deceased has been identified as Salam Shaikh, 32, who worked as a cleaner in the public toilet situated in Gulzar Nagar, Bhiwandi.
The incident took place in a house that was situated above the public toilet on Sunday at 5:10 PM when no one was in the room. The police said that they were alerted by locals and rushed to the spot, where they found a body hanging from the roof of the room.
They pulled him down and sent him to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Bhiwandi, where the post-mortem was conducted. The body was handed over to the family members for final rites.
Vinayak Gaikwad, Senior Police Inspector from Shantinagar Police Station, said, “We have lodged an Accidental Death Report in the matter so far. The reason of the suicide is yet to unknown. No suicide note has been found from the spot.Further investigation into this matter is ongoing.”
