Every year a unique procession comes out on the day of Holi in Nargada village of Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh, where the groom is there, but not a bride. This time too, Vishwambhar Dayal Mishra of the village became the groom for the 42nd time, but as usual the procession returned without a bride.

Groom riding on a tractor, a full -fledged procession

On Monday, the entire village took out a procession with Rang, Gulal and Dhol-Nagaras. The groom Vishwambhar Dayal Mishra was placed on the tractor, and the entire village went with a dancing and singing procession. On reaching the bride’s house, all the rituals were performed, Dwarpujan took place, Mangalgat sung, the feet of the baraatis were buried.

However, according to tradition, the bride was not found even after the rounds and farewell, and for the 42nd time this unique marriage remained incomplete. Earlier, Shyambihari, the elder brother of Vishwambhar, has also taken out the procession of 35 times without a bride.

Hundreds of years old tradition, wedding rituals are played every year

The people of the village say that this tradition has been going on for hundreds of years. Every year on the day of Holi, the entire village takes out a procession, the entire rituals of the wedding are performed, but in the end the groom returns without a bride.

The real wife of Vishwambhar is sent to Maike

The unique thing is that Mohini, the real wife of Vishwambhar Dayal Mishra, is sent to her maternal home every year before Holi. When the procession returns without a bride, Mohini is sent back to his in -laws.

Earlier brothers used to play this tradition

Before the world, his elder brother Shyambihari continued to follow this tradition for 35 years. Then he used to take a procession riding on a buffalo. People from far and wide come to see this unique marriage and become a part of this tradition.

Lively examples of folk culture

Even though there have been many modern changes in today’s weddings, this tradition of Nargada village still has memories of folk culture and customs. The procession still sings Gari, Sohar, Mangalgit and traditional wedding songs, which make it even more special.

This unique wedding of Nargada village is not just a joke or farce, but an example of the tradition and social unity that has been going on for years.
