Former Australian opening batter David Warner is all set to embark into the acting industry as the South Indian film named ‘Robinhood’ will release worldwide on March 28 this year. A poster of the same was unveiled on social media on March 15, Saturday, with the New South Welshman set to play a cameo in the movie.

Warner retired from international cricket after the T20 World Cup last year and established himself as one of the most explosive batters across formats. The left-handed batter, who is also amongst the prolific batters in IPL, failed to receive a contract from any of the franchises ahead of the 2025 edition. In 383 matches from 2009 to 2024, Warner has smashed 18995 runs with 49 centuries.

Mythri Movie Makers released the poster on Instagram with the caption

“After shining and leaving a mark on the ground, it is time for him to shine on the silver screen. Introducing the widely loved @davidwarner31 to Indian Cinema with #Robinhood in an exciting cameo.”

“If they want to boo me, boo me” – David Warner ahead of his The Hundred stint

Meanwhile, Warner, who is set to ply his trade for The London Spirit in The Hundred this year, said he is ready to handle the boos from the crowd in England, especially when he plays at Lord’s. The southpaw said, as quoted by BBC Sport:

“I actually want them to come at Australians. I love that stuff. That’s what gets me going. If they want to boo me, boo me, but don’t boo the team or anything like that. I’ll have to walk past the Long Room first to get to the changing room. I’m really looking forward to going back there. We’re there for the London Spirit. We’re not there playing for the Australian cricket team.”
