Patna: A video of Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) MLA and son of former union minister Lalu Yadav asking an on-duty cop to dance during a Holi ceremony is making rounds on the internet. Tej Pratap Yadav threatened the police officer of suspension if he does not dance. The cop then danced as Tej Pratap Yadav sang a song during the Holi ceremony. A video of the incident is doing rounds on social media. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shanawaz Hussain criticised the RJD leader after the video went viral on social media.

The video is from Holi celebrations at Yadav’s residence in Patna, In the viral video, the policeman was seen dancing after RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav told the policeman that if he did not dance, he would be suspended.

Yadav, who is smeared with colors is heard in the video saying, “I will play a song and you will have to dance, if you don’t then you will be suspended.”

“Ek ganna bajayenge usme tumko thumka lagana hai, bura mat mano Holi hai. Aj nahi thumka lagaoge toh suspend kar diye jaoge.’

Yadav then sings to which the cop is seen dancing. Yadav also says “Bura mat mano Holi hai” (Don’t feel bad its Holi).

NDA Leaders React

JDU spokesperson Arvind Nishad reacting to the video said, “The order given by MLA Tej Pratap Yadav to the police personnel assigned to his security to dance while on duty is a reminder of the Lalu-Rabri regime.”

He further said, “His threats and actions are inappropriate. The way Holi was celebrated during their rule and how he recreated that chaos truly brings back memories of those days. In today’s governance, it is unimaginable how someone can behave in such a manner.”

Reacting to the controversial video BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain says, “… He asked his bodyguard to dance; otherwise, he would suspend him. He has no power and authority to suspend anyone. This is Nitish Kumar’s government, not Jungle Raj… Using such a language is unfortunate. RJD leaders have not evolved.”

Bihar is scheduled to go to polls later in the year and the law and order situation in the state is going to be a very important poll agenda in the state polls.
