Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has sustained a knee injury while rehearsing for a high-energy song sequence for War 2. According to media reports, his representative confirmed the news on Friday (March 14), stating that doctors have advised him to rest before resuming work.
“Hrithik has injured his knee. He wasn’t shooting, but it happened during rehearsals for the song for War 2. The doctor has advised him to rest,” the representative said.
Earlier in the day, Hrithik was spotted attending the funeral of veteran actor-filmmaker Deb Mukherjee, walking with the support of elbow crutches.
Deb Mukherjee, father of War 2 director Ayan Mukerji, passed away at 83 after a prolonged illness. His last rites were held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Juhu, with several Bollywood celebrities, including Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar, Jaya Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, and Ranbir Kapoor, in attendance.
More on Hrithik Roshan’s injury
A source close to War 2 informed Bollywood Hungama that Hrithik had been pushing himself hard for the song’s rehearsals. “Hrithik really pushed himself during the rehearsals of this energetic song with Jr NTR for War 2. He got a niggle in his leg during rehearsals that was quite uncomfortable, and when the doctors inspected his injury, they advised him to not risk it further and rest out his leg before he shoots this massive song,” the source reportedly said.
The much-anticipated dance-off between Hrithik and Jr NTR is now scheduled to be filmed in May. “All the principal actors have finished their respective shoots, and the film is already in post-production. This minor bump isn’t derailing any promotion or marketing plans. War 2 will release theatrically worldwide on August 14, 2025,” the source added.
