Raipur: The election for the Raipur District Panchayat President and Vice President has been postponed once again, triggering a political war of words. Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee (CPCC) Chief Deepak Baij questioned the repeated delays, asking why the government was afraid of conducting the elections on time.

In response, Raipur’s Minister in-charge, Kedar Kashyap, stated that the decision to postpone was based on local conditions. He dismissed the Congress’s allegations, emphasizing that most district panchayats have already elected BJP leaders as president and vice president.

Kashyap also refuted claims of vote-buying, stating that those accusing others of corruption are the ones willing to sell themselves. The elections, initially scheduled for Thursday, have now been rescheduled for March 20.
