Tamil Nadu The Stalin government has taken a big decision amidst the ongoing language dispute. During the budget, the government has removed the ‘₹’ symbol and replaced it with a ‘rupee’ symbol. The insignia of the rupee has been officially adopted across the country. Now the Stalin government has brought a different symbol. It has also released a new logo during the budget. After the unveiling of a new rupee logo across the country, Tamil Nadu is the first state to release a separate insignia.

Long -standing controversy over Hindi language

This step of the Stalin government has come at a time when there has been a long -standing controversy over the Hindi language. Recently, MK Stalin said in a post on social media that ‘ancient languages are becoming extinct due to efforts to establish Hindi identity across the country’. Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have never been Hindi -speaking areas. Now his original language has become a symbol of the past.

Accused of destroying these languages

MK Stalin appealed to the people of other states, saying, ‘My brothers and sisters living in other states, have you ever thought how many other languages have been captured by Hindi language? Mundari, Marwari, Kudukh, Malvi, Chhattisgarhi, Santhali, Kurmali, Khoratha, Maithili, Awadhi, Bhojpuri, Braj, Kumaoni, Garhwali, Bundeli and many other languages are now struggling for their existence.

BJP targeted

The BJP has condemned this decision of the Tamil Nadu government. The BJP spokesperson said, ‘MK Stalin’s party shows a tendency to separate from India. BJP leader Narayanan Tirupati said that the insignia of the rupee is widely recognized as a symbol of India.

BJP state president Annamalai has criticized this decision of the state government. At the same time, he has described this decision of the Stalin government as a foolish step. He said, “The son of a Tamilian and former DMK MLA has designed a symbol of the rupee.”

Tamil Nadu government announced a new symbol for ₹

The symbol of ₹ has been adopted across India, which was adopted by the government in 2010. It is designed by Tamil Nadu’s famous designer Udaya Kumar Dharmalingam. This symbol is national recognized as it is based on the Indian tricolor. But now the Tamil Nadu government has changed it to ‘Rs’, which is considered a symbol of rupee in Tamil language.

Attempt to strengthen Tamil identity

Political analysts believe that the Tamil Nadu government has tried to further strengthen the Tamil identity by changing the ₹. The DMK government is already against being imposed Hindi and has often been opposing the language policy of the central government.
