Obesity in children: The problem of obesity is increasing worldwide and its cases are expected to increase significantly in the next 25 years. According to the researchers, one -third of the world’s children and teenagers will suffer from obesity or overweight by 2050.
The research was conducted by Australia -based Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and its results are worrying. The effect of this growing problem on health will not only be important from the economic point of view, but it will also affect the quality of life of children and adolescents.
On the influence of obesity on the future in this international research, Dr. Jessica Kerr said, “This growing problem will put billions of dollars on health systems and economy. Also, problems related to high body mass index (BMI) such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular problems, respiratory problems, reproductive problems and mental health problems will affect children and adolescents in future today and in future. ”
This research shows that the rate of obesity in children and adolescents between 5 and 24 years of age has increased three times from 1990 to 2021. In 2021, 493 million children around the world and teenagers were thick or overweight.
The effects of obesity in adulthood:
Thick children increase the risk of stroke, many types of cancer, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, untimely death and mental illness.
It is necessary to take action in time,
Dr. Kerr further said that if immediate action is not taken on this problem, then the lives of our children can be difficult in future. If active steps are taken before 2030, this problem can be solved.
