With Rs 258 crore in pending electricity bills, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has appealed to consumers in Kalyan and Bhandup zones to clear their dues immediately or face power disconnection. To prevent inconvenience, the company has urged defaulters to settle their outstanding bills, while other consumers should ensure timely payment of current dues.

In the past one and a half months, 25,722 defaulters in this region have had their power supply temporarily disconnected due to non-payment.

The Bhandup circle has Rs 179.43 crore in unpaid bills, with Rs 19.75 crore from Bhandup, Mulund, Thane 1 and 2, and Wagle Estate, Rs 35.01 crore from Panvel City, Nerul, and Vashi, and Rs 124.67 crore from Alibaug, Goregaon, Panvel Rural, and Roha. Over the last two months, 24,272 consumers in this region have faced power disconnection for failing to pay their dues.

“To assist consumers in clearing their dues, MSEDCL will keep bill collection centers open on Sundays and holidays until the end of March.
