India’s first satellite state: Assam will become the first state in the country to have its own satellite. Finance Minister Ajanta Niyog said this while presenting the state budget for the year 2025-26. For this, the Assam government has also interacted with ISRO. Regarding this, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa said, ‘If we have our own satellite, it will inform us whether an outsider is illegally entering the state or not. It will also provide advance information about disasters like floods and will also provide meteorological reports to farmers.
The Assam government has made a big announcement on Monday. The state will get its own satellite which will help collect important data and will also monitor boundaries for effective implementation of social and economic development projects.
Finance Minister Ajanta Niyog gave this information while presenting the state budget for 2025-26. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Assam will be the first state in the country to have its own satellite.”
How will the AssamSet work?
Giving this information, Finance Minister Ajanta Niyog said that this satellite will be developed in collaboration with the Indian Space Department in Space (Indian National Space Promotion and Authority Center).
Giving more information about this, the Finance Minister said, ‘We want to install our own satellite’ Assamsat ‘, so that continuous and reliable data can be obtained for effective implementation of socio-economic development projects.
Which areas will benefit from satellites?
This satellite will prove useful in agriculture, disaster management, infrastructure development, border security management and police functions. Apart from this, it will work to promote the scientific imagination of the students of the state. Because it will be involved in the process of making experimental satellite with the help of Inpace and ISRO.
