Rewa (Madhya Pradesh): A disturbing video has surfaced on social media, showing a street dog carrying a dead infant between its jaws on a busy street. The incident was reported in Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa on Tuesday night.
The visuals show bikers chasing the dog while recording the dreadful sight on their mobile camera.
The viral clip further shows a street dog running on the road late in the evening, carrying a dead baby, covered in blood, with its teeth. The sight sent shockwaves among the passersby; however, they remained mere spectators. Neither did they care to inform the police nor did they try to rescue the body and shoo the dog away.
Details regarding whose baby was the dog carrying or whether the stray killed the baby are yet to be ascertained. There are speculations that the dog must have found the dead body from a nearby hospital.
According to information, the incident came to light at Jayastambh Chowk, which comes under the Civil Line Police Station in Rewa city.
A few youths here spotted the dog gripping a baby’s body between its teeth. They tried to record it on their phones; however, the dog continued to run. The youths decided to chase it on a bike and captured the disturbing visuals on camera.
According to commuters and eyewitnesses, it looked as if the baby was an infant. There are several unanswered questions that the officials are still trying to bring to a conclusion. “Did the dog kill the baby? If not, then from where did it find the body? Whose baby was that?”
This is not the first time such an incident has happened. Some weeks ago, a dead body of a newborn was found abandoned in New Bus Stand in Rewa. Apart from this, a few days ago, a dog was seen nibbling on the body of a newborn in the hospital premises.
