Bollywood actor, singer and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar shared an update on his health, and revealed that he underwent a surgery in December 2024 after suffering a meniscus tear. He said his life is getting back on track now.
Sharing a picture of himself on Instagram on Wednesday (March 12), Farhan wrote, “Life’s getting back on track .. 👊🏽 Had a meniscus tear last year and a surgery in December to take care of it. Thank you Dr Vivek Shetty, for allaying any fear I had about the procedure and recovery.”
Farhan added, “Now, with the support of my awesome trainers @samir_jaura & @drewnealpt, finally beginning to pack some load onto the knee and start my way back to where I love my mind and body to be… Ups and downs are all part of the journey. We got to keep moving. Let’s go.”

What is meniscus tear?
A meniscus tear is a tear in the cartilage that cushions the knee joint. It’s one of the most common knee injuries.
Farhan’s upcoming projects
Meanwhile, on the work front, the Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor recently made headlines for reuniting with Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara co-stars Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol for a campaign.
He will be getting back to the director’s chair after almost 11 years with a female-oriented road trip film ‘Jee Le Zara’ which will feature Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. He announced the film in 2021. However, there’s no update on the film’s production and release by the makers yet.
He will also direct ‘Don 3’ headlined by Ranveer Singh. The film also stars Kiara Advani, however, after she announced pregnancy in February 2024, several media reports stated that she is no more a part of the upcoming film. Also, Kriti Sanon has been approached to play the female lead in Don 3.
As an actor, Farhan will be seen in a film titled 120 Bahadur.
