On the one hand, while Pakistan Cricket Board is patting its back for the successful host of the Champions Trophy, on the other hand, rumors are flying about its bad situation. PCB has taken a stunning step after the Champions Trophy ends. PCB has drastically cut the match fees of players in domestic cricket.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has reduced the match fees of cricketers from Rs 1 lakh per match to Rs 10,000 per match in the upcoming National T20 Championship. Reserve players will get Rs 5,000 per match. The tournament starts from 14 March. Not only this, the board is also considering reducing spending on the development of domestic cricket. The players’ concern has increased due to the reduction in match fees.

PCB’s domestic cricket chief Abdullah Khurram is cutting the facilities of Niazi players. According to sources, earlier players were held in five -star and four -star hotels, but now they are being offered cheap hotels. Air travel has also been reduced and the fee has also been reduced.

Another source said that the dues of the previous session have not yet been paid to the players and umpires. PCB has also not implemented annual pension growth for former Test cricketers. Which is necessary under the board policy. It is noteworthy here that PCB has spent about Rs 1.8 billion on the upgradation of cricket stadiums in Lahore, Karachi and Rawalpindi before the Champions Trophy.

The irony is that while the match fees of the players are being reduced, PCB officials are getting millions of rupees monthly salary. PCB selectors and team mentors get a hefty amount. Mentor Misbah-ul-Haq, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Sakalain Mushtaq are paid about Rs 50 lakh per month on a 2-year contract.
