Team India’s tour of England starts on 20 June. But according to the report, the head coach Gambhir will leave for England with India ‘A’ team earlier. If Gambhir goes to England, this will be the first time that India will travel with the ‘A’ team, the head coach of the senior team.
A BCCI source said that Gambhir is preparing roadmap for all formats for the next two years, which will continue till the 2027 ODI World Cup. The phase will also include the World Test Championship and the 2026 T20 World Cup.
The source said that Gambhir is discussing with the BCC after returning from Australia. He has expressed his desire to go to England with India ‘A’ team to get clear information about the reserve pool. India won the Champions Trophy after Gambhir insisted on keeping some wild card players, so it is expected that in future it will emphasize it more.
