After a brilliant performance in the Champions Trophy, middle -order batsman Shreyas Iyer will get the BCCI contract for the upcoming session.
Last year, Iyer was removed from the contract list with Ishaan Kishan for not playing domestic cricket as per the guidelines of the board. There is every possibility that Rajat Patidar, bowler Avesh Khan and all -rounder Shardul Thakur, who captained RCB in the IPL, will be excluded from the list. Wicketkeeper KS Bharat is also expected to be kept out of the list. He played his last international match in February 2024. Avesh Khan took six wickets in six T20 matches played in 2024. He played his last ODI in 2023. Shardul Thakur has performed brilliantly in the current Ranji Trophy and his name can be considered for the Test series against England in June. Rajat Patidar has not played a single international match since receiving the central contract.
