A slight increase in temperature has been recorded in the last one week, due to which the feeling of pink winter is slowly ending. Usually the weather starts to heat up around Holi, but this time the situation is going to be different. According to the latest estimates of the Meteorological Department, many states on Holi may receive rainfall, which can return the weather.

Western disturbance effect on Holi, weather may change

According to the Meteorological Department, the impact of the western disturbance from western Iran will begin to appear in India from the night of March 12. Its effect will be seen especially in North and Northeast India.

These states will rain:

  • Light rain between 12 and 14 March may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad.
  • Snowfall is possible in light rain and high altitude areas in Uttarakhand, which can increase the winter there.
  • Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh will receive light rain on 13-14 March.
  • There is a possibility of heavy rains in the states of Northeast India – Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Sikkim and Assam.

Where will there be a possibility of lightning fall?
In some areas, there may be thunderstorms with lightning, especially in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. In such a situation, people have been advised to be vigilant.

Temperature fluctuations: first will increase, then cool will come

The Meteorological Department has also predicted that the temperature will increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius on March 11 and 12. But after March 13, it will decline, and the temperature may come down to 4 degrees.

This means that during Holi, there will be a feeling of mild coolness in many areas, which can double the fun of the festival.

Which states will not have a big change?

In some states, the weather will remain stable, where there is no possibility of much change –

  • The weather in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal will be almost stable.
  • There will be no major change in Madhya Pradesh (Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh), but there will be mild heat.
  • Temperature can increase by 4 degrees within the next one week in South India (Telangana, Andhra Pradesh).

Summer will increase more, this year will also increase in heat stroke

The Meteorological Department has also warned that there may be more heat than normal between March and May this year.

  • The number of days of heatwave is also likely to increase, that is, the effect of heat will last longer.
  • The heat grows rapidly in North India usually after Chaitra Navratri (starting from March 30), and the same is likely to happen this year.

What to do?

  • Looking at the changing weather, keep light warm clothes ready.
  • Be sure to watch the weather update before playing color in open areas.
  • Make a habit of drinking enough water and staying hydrated before the heat increases.
