Uber has partnered with Refex Green Mobility to introduce 1,000 electric vehicles across major Indian cities by 2026, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable transportation. This initiative supports Uber’s long-term goal of achieving a fully emission-free fleet by 2040. By expanding its EV offerings, Uber aims to meet the rising demand for eco-friendly ride-hailing options while contributing to cleaner urban mobility.

Refex Green Mobility Limited, a subsidiary of Chennai-based Refex Industries Limited, operates under the Refex eVeelz brand. As part of its collaboration with Uber, the company will introduce electric four-wheelers in key cities, including Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai. This initiative marks a crucial step in Uber’s ongoing efforts to expand its electric vehicle fleet and promote cleaner mobility solutions in urban areas.

Aditya Kapoor, Head of Supply and Electrification, Uber India and South Asia, stated, “Uber is committed to accelerating the shift to zero-emission mobility in India, and this partnership with Refex eVeelz is a significant step in that direction. It strengthens our efforts to electrify urban transportation, bringing more electric ride options to riders across many new cities in India. We remain focused on removing barriers to EV adoption and driving the transition to a greener future through partnerships that will build a sustainable future for all.”

Sachin Navtosh Jha, Chief of Staff, Refex Group, said, “As a company dedicated to advancing sustainable mobility, we are proud to collaborate with Uber to expand electric solutions to more cities in India. This partnership, along with our existing B2B and B2C operations featuring nearly 1,300 company-owned 4-wheeler EVs, will support efforts to lower urban carbon emissions and play a crucial role in achieving India’s larger sustainability objectives.”

Uber has expanded its electric mobility offerings in India with the launch of Uber Green in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. This service enables riders to book an all-electric vehicle, ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable travel option with just a few taps on the app. Uber Green is already a widely available low-emission ride service globally, operating in over 100 cities across 15 countries, as part of the company’s push toward eco-friendly transportation solutions.
