Islamabad: Former Indian Navy officer and industrialist Kulbhushan Jadhav has been murdered in Pakistan in Pakistan. Mufti Shah Mir was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in Balochistan on Friday night. Along with this, the work of eliminating India’s enemies in Pakistan has also continued.
Mufti Shah Mir’s bike riding attackers shot and killed indiscriminately when he was out of the mosque after the prayers of Taraweeh in Turbat, Balochistan. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he died.
Mir was a member of the Islamic fundamentalist party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. He was also associated with the ISI -led death squad. He was involved in kidnapping and murder of several Baloch youths. Mufti Mir, involved in human and arms smuggling, was spreading religious extremism in Balochistan.
In March 2016, an Indian businessman and former Indian Navy officer Kulbhushan Jadhav was kidnapped by a group led by Mullah Umar Irani of Jaish al-Aadal. Jadhav was assigned to the Pakistani Army through several intermediaries including Mir. Jadhav is still in Pakistan jail. Jadhav was sentenced to death by a Pakistani court in 2017. However, after India’s appeal, the International Court of Court banned his execution in November 2019. Pakistan is still reviewing Jadhav’s sentence and has been ordered to give him diplomatic access.
Irani and her two sons were murdered in the same area in November 2020. It is alleged that ISI was involved in this murder. Apart from this, two members of Mir’s party were shot dead in Khujdar city of Balochistan last week. It is not clear who is behind these murders.
According to some sources, Mir was also murdered by ISI goons. ISI has been having internal conflict for some time. In the last few weeks, two other members of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, Wadera Ghulam Sarwar and Maulvi Amanullah were also shot dead by bike-riding attackers. The local police described it as a target and killed. Mir was attacked twice last year. According to some sources, he was providing intelligence to the Pakistani army about Baloch fighters. In 2023, a teacher named Abdul Rauf was allegedly murdered in Turubat on charges of blasphemy. The murder is said to be done on the orders of Mir.
