Mumbai: Police of Pune city detained BMW car driver Gaurav Manoj Ahuja (25) from Karad, Satara, who is accused of committing indecency and vulgar acts in the presence of women on Sunday evening at Bhar Chowk in Yerwada area of Pune. He was then brought to Pune. He was arrested at around eight in the morning after his medical examination at Sasoon Hospital here.
After being caught with a knife, a medical examination was conducted at Sasoon Hospital, a case was registered and investigated in other sections including BNS.
Gaurav landed in the middle of the road at Shastri Nagar Junction in Yerwada at around 7.30 pm on Saturday evening and started talking small in the presence of people at the junction. During this time, he also did obscene acts in the presence of women. The incident resulted in terrible results and strict legal action was demanded against Gaurav.
The video of this incident went viral on social media. In the video, a car is initially seen standing on the road at Shastri Nagar Junction. When Gaurav comes out of the car, he is seen urinating. While his friend Bhajesh Oswal (22) is seen sitting inside the car with a bottle of liquor. After public opposition, both friends sit in a car and get dizzy. After this incident, the police arrested Bhajesh late at night and then in the morning Gaurav was detained from Karad in Satara district and arrested him after medical examination at Sasoon Hospital. The police had earlier registered a case against the two against the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicles Act for driving public nuisance, negligence and negligence and driving a threat by driving on public roads.
The police produced Gaurav Ahuja and Bhayesh Oswal in the Sessions Court and sent them to police custody by 10 March.
