The Indian team has become the winner of the Champions Trophy 2025. India defeated New Zealand by 4 wickets in the final played at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday. The Indian team was in a rhythm of victory in the entire tournament.
No opposition team has been able to beat Rohit Sharma & Co.. The credit for this victory goes to the entire team along with captain Rohit Sharma. However, India’s victory also contributed to coach Gautam Gambhir and 5 decisions of team management. However, some of these decisions were criticized at the beginning of the tournament.
5 spinners in team
2 changes have been made in the provisional team for the Champions Trophy 2025. Fast bowler Harshit Rana was included in place of injured Jaspreet Bumrah. Leaving the backup opener, Varun Chakraborty was included as the 5th spinner. This decision was widely criticized. However, Indian spinners in Dubai proved to be effective. KL also played an unbeaten innings of 41 runs against Bangladesh.
Varun is included in the playing 11.
Varun Chakraborty did not get a chance in the first two group matches. After this, Varun got a place in playing 11 against New Zealand and then proved himself. Varun took 5 wickets in the last group stage match against New Zealand. After this, Varun Chakraborty was successful against Australia in the semi-finals and 2–2 against the Kiwi team in the final.
Arshdeep did not get a chance.
There was a fast bowler like Arshdeep Singh in the Indian team. Even after this, the team landed on the field with Mohammed Shami and Harshit Rana in the first two matches. After this, Rana was also dropped and the Indian team continued to play with the fast bowler.
Akshar was given a chance at number 5.
Prior to the Champions Trophy 2025, the Indian team played a 3 -match ODI series against England. In the first 2 matches of the series, Akshar Patel was sent to number 5. In the Champions Trophy 2025 also, Akshar Patel was launched to bat in front of KL Rahul. Akshar took advantage of these occasions and also contributed significantly with the bat. He scored 8, 3*, 42, 27 and 29 runs.
