14-Year-Old Girl Married Forcefully; 5 Including Parents Arrested After Video Of Husband Carrying Her Off Goes Viral (Screengrab) | X
Bengaluru: In a shocking incident, a minor girl was forcibly married to a 30-year-old relative in Karnataka’s Krishnagiri district. She was then roughly carried off by the man. The video of the incident also surfaced online. After the video from Hosur went viral, four people were arrested in connection with the matter.
The complaint was filed by the girl’s grandmother. The marriage took place on March 3 in Bengaluru, reported The Times of India. As per the media report, the girl went to her grandmother’s house after the ‘marriage’ and refused to go with her parents or ‘husband’.
The 30-year-old man went to her grandmother’s house and forcibly carried the girl in an attempt to take her along with him. As the video went viral, the police booked the man on multiple charges.

The girl is reportedly a class seven dropout. She was forcibly married to the 30-year-old man living in the Kalikuttai area of Bengaluru, the police said. The girl escaped from Anchetty after her parents and relatives returned following the ‘marriage’ and went to her grandmother’s house, reported TOI.
The man visited the house of the girl’s grandmother on Wednesday. When the girl refused to accompany him, she dragged her out and carried her against her will. In the video, the girl could be seen crying loudly.
After the complaint was lodged, the police swung into action and arrested the man, his brother and the girl’s mother on Wednesday, reported TOI. Meanwhile, the girl’s father and the man’s sister-in-law were reported arrested on Thursday.
The arrested accused were reportedly booked under the Child Marriage Act and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. A detailed investigation has been launched into the matter.
