He also filed a petition for mercy and forgiveness in the Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates. But the court has upheld its verdict and is adamant on giving him death penalty. The apology application has been rejected. The embassy is now trying to ensure that the families of the deceased attend their funeral.
A woman from Uttar Pradesh was also sentenced to death in the United Arab Emirates.
