Central Railway’s Mumbai Division has taken positive steps to ensure a safe and comfortable travel by providing better amenities and facilities to its esteemed passengers.
Passenger Comfort:
• Two escalators have been commissioned at platform no1 of Karjat station at the Kalyan end Foot Over Bridge.
• One Lift for passengers has been commissioned at platform no 1 of Shelu station at Karjat end Foot Over Bridge.
Both the escalators and lift will be beneficial to Senior citizens, Divyagjans, Pregnant Women and the sick.
Passenger Information:
• Four new GPS clocks have been installed at Sandhurst Road station.
• Old suburban train indicators have been replaced with new indicators with better visibility at Ghansoli, Rabale and Airoli stations.
• New All-in One Video Display indicators have been provided at Ulhasnagar, Vangani and Neral stations.
• All old public announcement system speakers have been replaced with new ones at Ulhasnagar station.
Installation of GPS clocks and provision of better indications and PA system will greatly enhance sharing of train running information to passengers.
Passenger Ticketing:
• 575 new ATVMs (Automatic Ticket Vending Machines) have been installed on 86 stations of Mumbai Division.
• Process for procurement of 226 more ATVMs has already been initiated.
ATVMs provide fast ticketing solutions enabling passengers to be free of long queues at ticket windows.
Facilities to Divyangjan:
• A total of 170 new buzzers have been installed at various stations on Main & Harbour line for the benefit of Divyangjan passengers.
These buzzers are extremely helpful to Divyagjan passengers especially the visually challenged to locate the place earmarked for Divyagjan.
