The British pound reached a three -month high against the dollar. The global dollar index fell to a four -month low. In the global market, it was feared that the tariff-trade war would also adversely affect the American economy. The growth rate of the Australian economy was expected to reach a two -year highest level.
Meanwhile, the global dollar index fell 0.77 percent against various major currencies in the world market. It was reported that the global dollar index fell from the highest level of 105.77 to the lowest level of 104.85 to 104.93. Today, in Mumbai market, the pound of Rs 57 paise increased to the highest level of Rs 111.85 against the rupee and closed at Rs 111.62. The price of European currency euro increased by 142 paise today. The euro reached the highest level of Rs 93.29 and the final business took place at Rs 93.16. However, the Japanese currency was 0.14 percent weaker against the rupee. China’s currency was 0.19 percent weaker against the rupee. The global dollar index fell to a four -month low. Today, the rise in rupee was considered the biggest one -day rise in the last three weeks. Today the dollar saw the selling of various domestic and foreign banks.
