The United States Geological Survey said the earthquake was in Imphal, Manipur, where the intensity was recorded at a depth of 10 km.
Earthquake tremors were also felt in the neighboring state of Myanmar.
Officials said the earthquake was also felt in Manipur, Assam and neighboring Myanmar. At present, there is no news of any casualty or damage due to earthquake. The German Geology Research Center reported that today (March 5), the Myanmar-India border had a 5.8 magnitude earthquake.
