Ukrainian President Volodimir Jailonsky reiterated his commitment to the peace agreement after a debate with US President Donald Trump last week. In a statement on Tuesday, he said, “Nobody wants a never ending war,” and Ukraine is ready for talks as soon as possible. Jailonsky insisted that the people of Ukraine have nothing more dear to peace, and they are committed to moving towards a permanent peace in Trump’s strong leadership.
Early steps of peace talks
Jailonsky said that in the early stages of ending the war, steps such as release of prisoners, missiles, long -range drones, and air strikes on the infrastructure can be taken steps. At the same time, the proposal of a ceasefire in the sea has also been proposed, provided Russia also takes the same steps.
Recent developments in US
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Trump addressed the US Parliament, stating that he received a letter from President Jailonsky, in which he had expressed the readiness to visit the talks table as soon as possible. Jailonsky further stated that he is ready to work on a strong final agreement with the US. He recalled that the US has always supported Ukraine’s sovereignty and freedom, especially when the Trump administration provided the Javelin missiles.
Meeting in White House and ahead
Jailonsky said that the meeting held at the White House in Washington on Friday should not have been as it should have been, and it is a matter of regret. He further said that the time has come to carry forward cooperation and dialogue in future. Jailonsci also said that Ukraine is ready to signed any convenient format to sign minerals and safety agreements, which they consider to be a step towards a solid safety guarantee.
American reactions
US Treasury Secretary Scott Besant warned that if Ukraine decides to continue war, the importance of the agreement will be lost. At the same time, the stormer said that he would form a comprehensive peace plan with French President Emmanuel Macron and Jailnsky and present it to Trump. Jailonski emphasized that he wants to first talk to the US towards ending the war with Russia, but for him it is necessary to guarantee the security of his country first.
Thus, the enthusiasm for peace talks from Ukraine is evident, and efforts are on for permanent solutions through upcoming agreements.
