Sitapur: A shocking case of a six-year-old girl’s murder in Sitapur was solved after the police uncovered that the victim’s own father was responsible for her death.
The incident took place near the Rampur Mathura police station, where the minor was found dead. As the investigation progressed, suspicion fell on the girl’s father, Mohit.
When questioned by the police, Mohit eventually broke down and confessed to killing his daughter, as per a report by Amar Ujala. During the interrogation, he admitted that he had committed the crime while he was intoxicated.
How Did the Police Uncover the Investigation?
As per reports, the girl, who hails from Rampur, Mathura, went missing on February 25. Over the next two days, her body parts were discovered in nearby fields. The postmortem confirmed death by strangulation.
Following the postmortem, SP Chakresh Mishra directed his team, along with teams from Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) and surveillance units, to investigate the case.
Meanwhile, the deceased girl’s father went missing, further raising suspicion. The Special Operations Group (SOG) team traced his location to the Sitapur court and brought him back home for questioning. After this, Mohit’s father, a local priest (baba), and several women from the family were also interrogated.
Late at night, under intense questioning, Mohit finally broke down and confessed that he had committed the crime alone. As per the report, CO Vedprakash Srivastava also confirmed that Mohit has admitted to the murder, and legal proceedings are now underway.
