Pakistan has announced its ODI and T20 team for the tour of New Zealand. Salman Aga has been given the command of the team in the shortest format of cricket. Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam are not included in T20.

 

The ODI team is commanded by Mohammad Rizwan. Shaheen Shah Afridi, who flopped badly in the Champions Trophy, has not been given a place in the ODI team. Pakistan has to play a series of five T20s and three ODIs on New Zealand tour.

Pakistan gets a new captain

After the shameful performance of the Pakistan cricket team in the Champions Trophy, the team has got the new captain in the T20 format. Salman Aga has been replaced by Mohammad Rizwan for the five -match series against New Zealand. Shadab Khan has been given the responsibility of vice -captain. Rizwan and Babur have not been given a place in the T20 team either. Pakistan has bet on young players for the T20 series. Nasim Shah has also not been given a chance in the T20 team. Harris Rauf has not been included in any team.

 

 

 

 

Rizwan will captain in ODIs

Despite the team’s shameful performance in the Champions Trophy 2025, the selectors have maintained their confidence in Rizwan as captain in the ODI format. Salman Aga has been given the responsibility of vice -captain. Mohammad Wasim Junior and Mohammad Irfan Khan have been included in the ODI team. Sufayan Mukim and Tayyab Tahir have also managed to make their place in the ODI team.

The PCB said that Fakhar Zaman and Sam Ayub are not available for selection due to injury. Pakistan team will start the tour with a five-match T20 series. The first match of the series will be played on 16 March and the second match on 18 March. The third match will be played on 21 March in Auckland and the fourth match will be played on 23 March. The last match of the series will be played on 26 March. The ODI series will begin on March 29, while the last match will be played on 5 April.
