IT act
Officers will get these new rights
However, honest taxpayers will not have any problem in this. Let us tell you that the officials will get this right in the new Income Tax Act. The current IT Act, 1961, allows officers to search and seize property and accounts under Section 132. If they have information about assuming and the reason that a person has any income, property or document that he has not deliberately declared to avoid income tax.
Virtual digital location
One way to do this under the current law is that if the keys are not available and they suspect that there is undisclosed property or account book, they break the lock of doors, boxes or lockers. Under the new Income Tax Bill, this power has also been increased to your computer system or virtual digital space.
Section 247 of Income Tax Bill
According to Section 247 of the Income Tax Bill, if an officer believes that a person has undisclosed income or property, which comes under the Income Tax Act, he can break the lock of any doors, boxes, lockers, chests, cupboards or other equipment. They can get access to any computer system or virtual digital space by overrising the access code.
